Mr Noureddine Mezni

Mr Noureddine MezniInternational Public Diplomacy, Communications  Expert

Noureddine Mezni is a seasoned expert in public diplomacy. Over the
last three decades, he has built up a vast network of influential
public and private sector contacts in Africa , the Middle East and the
Gulf region.His wealth of senior management experience in major
international organizations, including the United Nations (UN), the
African Union (AU) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC),
is a valuable asset in today's fast-changing global
communicationsenvironment.

  Mr Mezni started his professional life as a journalist and the prime
time news anchor for Tunisia's state-owned television, he quickly
built an  impressive career in the international system as a
results-driven public relations manager.

 At the OIC, in Jeddah -Saudi Arabia- Noureddine Mezni served four
successive Secretaries-General during  18 years in several capacities,
including as Director of Protocol and Public Relations, Press Adviser
and Member of the OIC Mediation Support Team. He also served for two
years as the OIC Deputy Permanent Observer to the UN in New York. In
these various positions, he traveled widely and developed a valuable
network of high-level contacts with government and business leaders,
especially in the Gulf region where he is well-known and respected

 Upon completion of his assignment at the OIC and after briefly
serving his country as Secretary General of the High Communications
Council, he joined the African Union as Spokesperson of the AU Mission
in Sudan (AMIS). In 2008, following the transfer of authority from
AMIS to a joint AU-UN hybrid mission called UNAMID, Mr Mezni became
the pioneer Spokesperson of this new mission - the largest UN
peacekeeping mission in the world with an authorized strength of more
than 20,000 uniformed personnel.

   From 2010 to 2012, he was seconded by the UN to the African Union
in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where he served as the pioneer Spokesperson
of the Chairperson of the AU Commission. Back to Tunisia in 2013, he
started a global communications and public diplomacy consultancy.

His consultancy work  has strong area expertise in Africa and the Gulf
region and offers boutique service to business corporations , civil
society organizations, international and regional institutions, in
public relations and reputation management, strategic communications,
public diplomacy, mediation and conflict resolution facilitation.
