The underlisted personalities are some of the outstanding Associates of JKS & Associates Ltd. Their careers cover a wide range of professions and have made considerable contributions to the development of Nigeria in particular, and Africa as a whole. They will bring to bear on the work JKS will be doing, their experience, skills and commitment.

Chief Funsho D. Owoyemi

Chief Funsho D. Owoyemitrained in England where he qualified as an Accountant in 1979. He joined the firm of Messrs. Akintola Williams & Co. in 1980 and worked with the firm for almost 10 years where he rose to the position of Senior Manager, before taking up appointment with Nationwide Merchant Bank in 1989, and later in CBN/NDIC, where he was appointed the Executive Chairman of the Nationwide Merchant Bank and Ivory Merchant. He resigned his appointment to manage his private practice in 1989.

His experience covers a wide range of industries and in the past fifteen years, he has been actively involved in engagements performed for Central Bank of Nigeria, United Bank for Africa Plc, PPMC (subsidiary to NNPC), PTF (Petroleum Trust Fund) and Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC). Besides, his unique knowledge of international engagement particularly with the African Development Bank (Cote D’Ivoire), International Funding Agencies in Nigeria (EU in particular) has enlarged his capacity for variety of engagements.

A couple of years ago, he was appointed as the Chairman of the Board of External Auditors to the African Union in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, a position that took him out of the country regularly to head a group of seasoned accountants chosen from 10 African countries to carry out the audit of the Financial Records and Development Programmes of the African Union in Addis Ababa and its regional offices.

In addition to his membership of professional bodies, Chief Owoyemi holds a Masters Degree in Banking and Finance from the University of Lagos. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Maritime Administrative and Safety Agency (NIMASA) a Federal Government of Nigeria, parastatal under the Ministry of Transport. In recent times, he was appointed a member of the Committee put together by the Attorney General of the Federation to carry out a complete overhaul and restructuring of the Nigeria Drug Enforcement Agency for greater service delivery and relevance.

Chief Owoyemi is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA); Fellow of Certified Chartered Accountants, U.K. (FCCA) and Fellow, Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCITN).
